Despite this excellent start to the year, Mattock Rangers had a disappointing Championship, winning only a single game. The team redeemed themselves to some extent later in the year by qualifying for the Senior Hurling League Final, in which they lost out to Knockbridge.

2007 Senior Squad
2007 was a year of one-point wins for a Mattock team in search of a third Junior Championship victory in a row. In the preliminary rounds of the Championship, Mattock scraped by both Knockbridge and Pearse Og by a single point in both cases, and successfully qualifying for the 2007 Championship Final against Termonfeckin.

Despite defeating Termonfeckin by 6 points earlier in the Championship, the Mattock Hurling team got off to a terrible start, conceding two early goals. Despite this Mattock managed to get themselves back in the game, largely due to 6 points from an in-form Jason Condon.

Three-in-a-row celebrations!
The match went right down to the wire and once again the Mattock men emerged victorious by a single point, 0-17 to 3-7, and clinched the three-in-a-row.
