It is with great sadness that Mattock Rangers members and the Collon community have experienced at the passing of Peter Murphy, Honorary President of Mattock Rangers and our former Chairman.

Peter served on the Mattock committee for over 40 years, serving as Chairman from 2000 to 2009. As an inspiring Chairman, he led the club during the glory years of the noughties that saw the club win its first Senior Championship in 2002 and follow this up with further Joe Ward successes in 2005 & 2009 under his Chairmanship. The club also added our new Community Sports Centre in 2004 during his tenure as Chairman. His contribution to his community and parish has been immense.

His knowledge of every aspect of the Mattock Rangers was unmatchable.  A kind, hardworking and honest clubman who will be missed dearly by everyone.  We cannot thank him enough for everything and his legacy will not be forgotten.

The Club extends its sympathy to his beloved wife Mary, his family Kevin, Martin, Caroline, Sharon, Barry, Michelle and his grandchildren and sisters and the extended Murphy & Coy families.
